Karate: Karate: 80 Kinder auf Kreismeister-Kurs

BALLENSTEDT/MZ/AL. - Zu den ersten Wettkämpfen der diesjährigen Kreis-Kinder- und Jugendolympiade des Kreissportbundes Harz, die offiziell erst im August mit einer Veranstaltung auf dem Quedlinburger Markt eröffnet werden soll, zählte die offene Kreismeisterschaft in der Sportart Karate. Ausrichtender Verein war das dritte Jahr in Folge der Yamakawa Karate-Do Ballenstedt unter Leitung des Vereinsvorsitzenden Alexander Löwe. Er eröffnete zusammen mit dem stellvertretenden Geschäftsführer des KSB, Thomas Trautmann, die Olympiade.

Über 80 Kinder sowie Jugendliche kamen nach Ballenstedt in das Sportzentrum, um in ihrer Kategorie Kreismeister des Landkreises Harz zu werden. Es waren der Karate Do Quedlinburg, Yamakawa Halberstadt und Yamakawa Karate-Do Ballenstedt vertreten. Weiterhin verstärkte mit ein paar Athleten der ASV Sangerhausen die Starterfelder. Die Wettkämpfer gingen im Bereich Kata (vorgeschriebene Technikabläufe), Kata Team (Synchronkata) sowie Kumite (Kampf) an den Start.

"Alle Kämpfer von Klein bis Groß zeigten Kampfeswillen und Einsatz", lobte Alexander Löwe. Er hob besonders Marie-Josefine Richter (Ballenstedt), Gina-Marie Fengewisch (Ballenstedt), Theresa Bock (Ballenstedt), Celina-Justine Fengewisch (Ballenstedt), Lilly Dreiling (QLB), Caroline Maue (QLB), Charlotte Müller (QLB) hervor. Alle erkämpften sich gleich mehrere Medaillen in verschiedenen Kategorien und Altersklassen.

In der Gesamtmedaillen-Übersicht gingen 14 Goldmedaillen nach Ballenstedt, sechs nach Sangerhausen, vier nach Quedlinburg und eine nach Halberstadt. Der Ballenstedter Verein bedankt sich für die Unterstützung durch die Kampfrichter und die zahlreichen Eltern, die zum Gelingen dieser Veranstaltung beigetragen haben.
